Advocate, arbitrator and mediator. He has been in the legal profession since 1994. For more than a decade, he has focused his practice on representing clients in high-profile litigation and arbitration, as well as in settlement processes (negotiation and mediation).

With our law firm since 2001. Previously, he ran his own law firm and worked at other law firms such as Prokurent, Bracia Strzelczyk i Wspólnicy and Bentkowski Chałas Wysocki.

Marcin Boruc is a fan and practitioner of martial arts.

Representative Matters
  • Represented an electricity trading and distribution company in a precedent-setting cross claim arbitration (before Arbitration Court at the Polish Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw) against a combined heat and power plant operator regarding a long-term electricity sales contract in the context of tariff regime in co-generation energy production;
  • Represented an electricity producer in a lawsuit against a lignite mining company regarding the existence of a long-term lignite supply agreement;
  • Represented an electricity producer in court and enforcement cases against the President of the Energy Regulatory Office and Zarządca Rozliczeń S.A. regarding stranded costs;
  • Represented a US-based wind farm developer in a number of litigations against one of shareholders and the former president of the management board determining the future of the client's Polish projects;
  • Represented famous Polish alpinists and travelers in a precedent-setting and widely publicized case (against the author, the publisher and a major bookstore network operator in Poland) regarding a book, promoted as a fiction novel and yet undermining the clients’ actual achievements (succeeded in obtaining a very rare outcome: final decisions of courts of both instances forbidding to promote, publish and distribute the book);
  • Represented an Italian-based company in litigation and enforcement proceedings related to recovery of production line machinery against its former business associate engaged in a common innovative production project with the client;
  • Represented Italian, UK- an US-based companies in arbitration cases regarding compensation claims;
  • Represented an electricity trading and distribution company in litigation and administrative enforcement proceedings related to non-compliance with a decision issued by the President of the Energy Regulatory Office obliging the client to supply electricity to a steel mill that was the largest electricity consumer in Poland;
  • Represented a well-known Polish gynecologist in civil, criminal and disciplinary cases related to his alleged malpractice;
  • Represented a warehouses and commercial centers operator in arbitration proceedings against tenants;
  • Represented the investor and the general contractor in arbitration and litigation cases in relation to the construction of the Warsaw Hyatt hotel.

  • Arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Confederation Lewiatan;
  • Mediator at Mediatorzy.pl mediation center and Lewiatan Mediation Center; 
  • Secretary General of the Polish Arbitration Association, 2002-2007.
Honors
  • Recognized by Legal 500 (2018) as one of recommended lawyers in dispute resolution in Poland;
  • In 2009, awarded by the National Council of Legal Advisors for the essay “Lawyers' Mediation Sensitivity” (co-authored by Agata Gójska, PhD).
