Representative Experience
- Acted as attorney for an electricity producer in a lawsuit against a lignite mining company regarding the existence of a long-term lignite supply agreement
- Acted as attorney for an electricity producer in court and enforcement cases against the President of the Energy Regulatory Office and Zarządca Rozliczeń S.A. regarding stranded costs
- Acted as attorney for a US-based wind farm developer in a number of litigation cases (against one of shareholders and the former president of the management board) determining the future of the client’s Polish projects
- Acted as attorney for well-known Polish alpinists and filmmakers in a precedent-setting and widely publicized case (against the author, the publisher and a major bookstore network operator in Poland) regarding a book promoted as a fiction novel but undermining the clients’ actual achievements
- Represented a large undertaking operating in the automotive industry in a case involving around PLN 300 million claims under a privatization agreement before the Regional Court, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court
- Acted as attorney for an Italian-based company in litigation and enforcement proceedings related to recovery of production line machinery against its former business associate engaged in a joint innovative production project
- Acted as attorney for Italian-, UK- an US-based companies in arbitration cases regarding claims resulting from their business relationships
- Acted as attorney for an electricity trading and distribution company in litigation and administrative enforcement proceedings related to the alleged non-compliance with a decision issued by the President of the Energy Regulatory Office obliging the client to supply electricity to a steel mill that was the largest electricity consumer in Poland
- Acted as attorney for a subsidiary prosecutor in a criminal case against former members of its management board and their aiders in connection with fraud in selling real estate of a value of a few dozen million PLN (the defendants were sentenced by a final judgment to several years’ imprisonment and fines and were required to repair the damage in full by paying multimillion sums to the injured company; the cassation appeals of the convicted persons were finally dismissed by the Supreme Court)
- Acted as attorney for the owner of a large retail facility in bankruptcy proceedings concerning a lessee of that facility (retail chain operator) in the course of which (with the proceedings still pending) he successfully secured a settlement with the receiver and performance of the settlement agreement by the receiver
- Acted as attorney for a hotel operator in a number of civil, enforcement, criminal and administrative proceedings in connection with the reprivatization of Warsaw land related to hotel operations
- Acted as attorney for a Ukrainian investor in a litigation case concerning claims against that investor in connection with the alleged failure to perform obligations under the privatization agreement
- Acted as attorney for a few dozen companies active in the laboratory industry in connection with their claims against a trade fair organizer (related to cancellation of the fair due to the COVID-19 pandemic)
- Acted as attorney for a company active in the laboratory industry in a number of civil, enforcement, criminal and Land and Mortgage Register proceedings in connection with acts of unfair competition of a former employee
- Acted as an arbitrator (including as the presiding arbitrator) in around a dozen arbitral proceedings
- Acted as a negotiator of a settlement agreement concluded (as a result of private mediation) between a Polish distributor and a U.S. manufacturer of sports equipment
- Provided comprehensive legal services for the World Judo Championships (Kraków 2022) and acted as advisor to the Championships organizer
